(Never A Dull Moment)
Why yes that is Blake Growing up on me
This is for my grandmother that passed away
10. He’s probably showering right now.
Kenny Chesney shares that he showers three times everyday because he can’t stand to be sticky. He’s new-school when it comes to his routine, and prefers good bodywash to a hard bar of Dial or Zest. As for bad habits, Chesney admits to biting his nails, something he’s not been able to quit since childhood. “I’ve tried everything except hypnosis to stop,” he reveals.”
9. Kenny wrote his first song to get a girl, and …
It didn’t work. He told Jay Leno during a 2010 interview that it was a persuasion class, but he was unable to persuade the coed to get romantic. She only nodded her head politely. One senses he might have better luck today than he did during his college years at East Tennessee State University.
8. He has a Goldendoodle named Pancho.
OK, maybe this is a fairly well-known fact about Kenny Chesney. He revealed the dog in 2012 and has commented on his behavior several times since. “A friend gave it to me and said, ‘Here, Kenny, you have to learn to attach to something!’ God’s honest truth!” Chesney said at the time. “Now, I love the guy.” We just wanted to use this adorable picture once again. Can you blame us?
7. He doesn’t think his tractor is very sexy.
During an interview for the Gibson Guitars website, Kenny Chesney shared that he does indeed own a tractor. In fact, he owns two tractors (as of 2007). Neither, however, have been known to get the ladies in the mood for any late-night romance. The question was a reference to his hit ‘She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy,’ of which Chesney says, “I was smart enough to record that song but I was smart enough also not to record another one.”
6. Grilled cheese sandwiches are his Bonbons.
“I love it,” Chesney told People in 2010. “Just a plain grilled cheese with extra salt. I wrote a song called ‘Red Wine and Grilled Cheese.’ I’ll put it on a record some day.” While the singer is fanatical about his health and fitness, he does allow himself Sundays off. A typical day’s menu consists of lots of carrot sticks and egg whites; it’s how he dropped 40 pounds and became known for his chiseled arms and abs.
5. Working for Kenny Chesney has its benefits.
Kenny Chesney takes care of the several hundred people he employs ever year. In the past, the singer has cut $14,000 checks to each member of his road crew and allowed a “merch” lottery in which everyone’s name goes into a big hat and the person whose name he pulls out gets all the money from that night’s merchandise sales. “Probably the biggest check was three hundred grand,” he tells the New York Times. A yearly tradition is the all-expenses-paid trip to the Virgin Islands for everyone on his crew, plus their families. Needless to say, turnover is low amongst his employees.
4. He replaced his treadmill with a bike.
In 2010, the singer revealed that he was really into cycling for a year. He told People that he bought all sorts of cycling equipment and clothing and really appreciated how it took his mind off of everything. “I was channeling Lance Armstrong,” he joked. That came after he admits to nearly wearing the belt off of his treadmill during the months that followed his 2005 breakup with actress Renee Zellweger. The union lasted less than a year.
3. He’s proud of his chrome dome, but …
For years, country music fans would pretend Kenny Chesney‘s receding hairline was something the singer was trying to hide, but in fact nothing could be more untrue. He told Parade Magazine that he first noticed he was balding when he was just 17 or 18, and it bothered him a little then. “But it doesn’t at all now … What’s ironic about it is that friends of mine in their 30s and 40s are just starting to lose their hair and are freaking out. I went through all that in high school.”
2. He’s not so proud of his middle name.
Chesney played coy with CMT during a 2002 interview, leading some to speculate that he doesn’t love his middle moniker. Of course in the age of the internet, secrets don’t stay secrets. All of the singer’s biggest fans know his birth name is Kenneth Arnold Chesney, born in Luttrell, Tenn.
1. The plan was to be at the World Trade Center early on 9/11.
This is a more than sobering thought, but Kenny Chesney admits that his crew had planned to begin shooting a new video for ‘The Tin Man’ on the day the World Trade Center towers were attacked. The singer had re-relased the 1994 single, but last-minute equipment delays pushed back the shooting. When he saw the news on television, he says he felt like an angel was watching our for him.
