My wife Kim and I live on a 16 acre farm in Solon Township in Kent County.
We are trying to get a beef operation going, but make some money with our egg business.
I love to restore old wooden motor boats. (DO YOU HAVE ONE THAT'S BEEN IN A BARN FOR YEARS?)
I love to fly radio control airplanes and the ones with strings that we all had as kids! Anyone have some of those lying around?
My best buck is a rather small eight point, but it is hanging in my office.
My best fish was a King Salmon I fought for 45 minutes on the lake. But it got away.
I grew up in Chicago and remain a dedicated Cubs and Bears fan.
It's a Run/walk on August 10th in memory of David Warsen, Navy SEAL, who passed away last year in Afghanistan.
What will the proceeds be used for?
All proceeds raised from food & drink, silent auction, and 50/50 Raffle will go toward care packages sent to our Navy SEALs and other forces deployed to Afghanistan. Along with this we also want to get our area children, schools and community involved in a personal way, by sending homemade cards to our deployed forces, along with the care packages. These are the most special gifts that our sons, brothers, fiances, husbands and friends will treasure, knowing that we care about and love them. No matter what our feelings are about this war, our SEALs and soldiers put their lives on the line every day unselfishly giving of their time away from their families, protecting their own brothers in arms and even giving of their life, in service. We need to let them know that we care in some small way. That WE think about them and appreciate ALL that they give for us everyday. Also, we are looking into setting up a scholarship for young soccer players whose families may struggle financially. Allowing them to play and have the proper equipment needed for success. This would be near and dear to David's heart.
