Ottawa County detectives say 6 Allendale Alternative High School students gathered in the basement of Richey Usher Junior Wednesday evening.

Richard Usher Ottawa County Mug Shot

They were drinking, and smoking marijuana, when Usher got out his 22 caliber handgun.

Ushers Facebook page shows a picture of a gun that fits the description.  It is an expensive Ruger Mark III Olympic Competition Model.  The semi automatic weapon holds ten rounds.  Usher calls the gun, a "Sweet Bundle of Death".

The Ruger list price for this weapon is $659 dollars.

It belongs to his grandfather, but neighbors say Usher used it almost daily outside his home, shooting at almost anything.  The neighbors say they are frightened of him.

Around 9pm Wednesday night the six boys began talking of Russian Roulette.  But in this version of the game, police say Usher held the gun, pointed it at 16 year old Brandon Kuiper and pulled the trigger.

The boy was shot in the face and collapsed.  The other five panicked.  They made up a story  about Kuiper and attempted suicide then called police.   The story quickly fell apart. Usher was arrested and charged with attempted manslaughter.  He is being held on 200-thousand dollars bond.

In a traditional game of Russian Roulette a revolver is used.  One bullet is placed in the cylinder.  It is spun and then the trigger pulled.  Depending on the weapon,  you have a one in five or one in six chance of being shot.

With this weapon, the gun is either loaded or unloaded, and the first round is either chambered or not.

Christians would tell you both Usher and Kuiper had opened their lives to a very dark side.    Ushers facebook page contains this album cover.

ALBUM COVER FROM DIO

The wounded boy, Kuipers,  home page contains a pentagram similar to this one.

This Pentagram is most often associated with Satanism.

It's particular arrangement symbolizes the place where fallen angels are  shackled  and the rejection of the Holy Trinity.

Kuiper is in the intensive care unit at Butterworth and shows no brain activity.  If he dies, Usher will face more serious charges.
