A WINTER STORM WATCH GOES INTO EFFECT AT 12 NOON TODAY FOR KENT, OTTAWA, ALLEGAN, BARRY AND ALL THE COUNTIES TO THE NORTH.   THE 94 CORRIDOR WHICH INCLUDES ST. JOE, KALAMAZOO, AND BATTLE CREEK, IS UNDER A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY.

Significant Snowfall for Thursday PM / Friday AM

Significant snowfall is anticipated from Thursday afternoon through Friday morning for much of western and central Lower Michigan.
  - 6 to 12 inch accumulations north of Interstate 96.  Snowfall over 12 inches possible between 14 Mile Roads in Kent County north to Route 10.

  - 3 to 6 inch accumulations south of I-96 through I-94.

Wetter and more dense snow compared to the past couple weeks, which will:
  - result in slippery travel conditions both Thursday evening and Friday morning
  - make snow removal more difficult.

K-Zoo.. >2 inches.

Allegan.. 6 inches.

Hastings.. 3 inches.

Lansing.. < 3.5 inches.

Grand Rapids 8 inches.

Grand Haven.. 10 inches.

Ionia.. 8 inches.

Cedar Springs.. 11 inches.

Newaygo.. 10 inches.

Greenville.. 10 inches.

Chickadee Ridge.. 11 inches.

 

The Weather Service says it's going to start snowing hard around 1 this afternoon and snow hard till around 1am.
