is on the road to recovery after battling a scary case of the flu this week -- which left him in critical condition in the ICU. He's officially being moved to the regular wing of the Florida hospital.
A rep for Burt says the actor's fever broke this morning -- which is what the doctors had been waiting for.
We're told his family and friends are extremely happy to see him recovering ... considering earlier in the week it was very "touch and go."
