A significant winter storm is heading for the Great Lakes area Wednesday night through Thursday night.  Most of the weather models that we normally look at show a strengthening low pressure system forming in Oklahoma Wednesday and then moving across Illinois Thursday before reaching Michigan Thursday night.

The map below shows the range of possibilities of the storm track.

At four this morning the Weather Service in Grand Rapids favored the European model, shown in the red dotted line.   That would bring us the most snow.

A swath of heavy snow will occur somewhere in the Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Michigan area later in the week.  Make sure to keep up with the forecasts so you can find out exactly where that will be in the coming days.

These are the snow fall totals that will come out of Wisconsin headed towards us....
