Winter (Snow) Is Coming...Today

Our first measurable snow is coming tonight (Wednesday, 12/6) into tomorrow.

There is a chance for some very light snow during the day today but lake effect snow will begin to kick in as early as 4pm this afternoon. Snow will continue into Thursday afternoon. Areas along the lakeshore will get anywhere from 3-6" total and inland areas will get 1-3". The Thursday morning commute will likely be very slippery on the roads. The heaviest snow will fall in Allegan and Van Buren counties.

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 4 PM EST THURSDAY...

* WHAT...Snow showers are expected to increase later this afternoon and more so this evening. The snow showers will then persist through much of Thursday. They could be locally heavy at times. Plan on slippery road conditions, especially during the morning commute on Thursday.

* WHERE...Southwest Lower Michigan mainly west of US-131.

* WHEN...From 4 PM this afternoon to 4 PM EST Thursday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Be prepared for reduced visibilities at times.
